About the Author: Robert S. Bulka
Robert grew up in the vibrant, loud streets of Bayonne, New Jersey, as one of six kids in a lively household where energy was never in short supply. Baseball was his first true love - he played for Marist High School, County College of Morris, and the Otto Mack Anchors in the Eastern States Baseball League. He later brought that same drive to Wall Street, working at Deutsche Bank, Broadridge, and J.P. Morgan. Just three months before 9/11, he was working right next to the World Trade Center, only to be in midtown Manhattan on the day of the attacks -a striking twist of fate that left him reflecting on how life can pivot in an instant.
Life threw some heavy curves in the years that followed- a difficult divorce, battles with anxiety and depression, and challenging child support issues. During those tougher seasons, Robert drove a taxi to make ends meet. In search of a fresh start, he moved to the Pacific Northwest with help from his brother. There, he worked with his brother Steven at Mondelez in Portland, Oregon. He discovered new passions - playing disc golf, performing stand-up comedy and spoken word at the Laurel Thirst Public House.
Today, Robert continues to write, perform and huk plastic on the lush courses of the Pacific Northwest.
